Poet Saint Gyandev invented Snakes and Ladders game in the 13th century in India. The ladders represent the virtues while the snakes indicate vices.
10. Plastic surgery
Plastic surgery was being carried out in India as early as 2000 BC. Sushruta was a physician who made a contribution to this field of plastic and cataract surgery. Eventually, he was credited with being the father of surgery around 600 BC. Books written by Sushruta made modern-day plastic surgery possible in European countries later.
11. Super Computer
Apart from the U.S. and Japan, India is the only country to build a supercomputer indigenously.
12. Wireless Communication
Wireless communication was first invented in India by Jagdish Chandra Bose. He was the first person to demonstrate the use of radio waves for communication.
13. Leprosy and Lithiasis Cure
Cure for leprosy and lithiasis were invented in India. The cure is mentioned in Atharva Veda (1500–1200 BCE), though its inventor’s name remains unknown.

Switzerland has declared May 26 as “The Science Day” in honour of Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam.
